ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To analyze the correlations between the incidence of rubella and meteorological factors over the same period and previous periods including 1, 2, 3 and 4 year ago (defined according to Chinese medicine Yunqi theory of "pestilence occurring after 3 years") and establish the rubella-meteorological forecast models for Beijing area, China.@*METHODS@#Data regarding the incidence of rubella between 1990 and 2004 from Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the meteorological variables including daily average temperatures, daily average wind speeds, average precipitations, average relative humidity, average vapor pressures and average low cloud covers between 1986 and 2004 were collected from the Beijing Meteorological Observatory. Descriptive statistics and back-propagation artificial neural network for forecast model's establishment were adopted for data analysis.@*RESULTS@#The average temperature and relative humidity have a great contribution (100%) to the rubella morbidity. But the combination of other meteorological factors contributed to improve the accuracy of rubella-meteorological forecast models. The forecast accuracy could be improved by 76% through utilizing a combination of meteorological variables spanning from 3 years ago to the present rather than utilizing data from a single year or dating back to more earlier time than 3 years.@*CONCLUSIONS@#There is a close relationship between the incidence of rubella and meteorological variables in current year and previous 3 years. This finding suggests that rubella prediction would benefit from consideration to previous climate changes.

ABSTRACT

[Objective]To discuss the space-time background of Five Yun and Six Qi and know the historical background of Five Yun and Six Qi theory and the time and space span.[Methods] Using the method of literature studies to interpret space-time of Yun Qi theory using Nei Jing theory from the time and space background of Six Qi of Si Tian,60 Jia Zi,Sui Li,Four Seasons,Day and Night,Heaven and Earth,Five Orientations and so on.[Results]The theory of Five Yun and Six Qi consists of 60 Jia Zi and explores the movement rule of Five Yun and Six Qi,showing rules between the celestial motion, physioclimate and human life. The theory regards heaven and earth as the space background, exploring the relationship between physioclimate and life, holding that human lives on the Qi of heaven and earth. The operation of heaven and earth creates five orientations to match different weather.Regions vary because of different Qi of heaven and earth. The same region has different Qi of Yin and Yang because of high and low.[Conclusion]The theory of correspondence between man and universe is fully reflected in Time and Space which is the basis of the theory of Yun Qi in Nei Jing.

ABSTRACT

With the frequent culture communication between china and Japan, YanQi theory of TCM spread to Japan and exerted an influence on Japanese medicine. From the volume of"YunQi" in "The literature investigation of TCM", we can tell YunQi theory occupied a major position in the Japanese medical literatures which spread from china. The primary books of YunQi edited by Japanese scholars reveal Japanese doctors are apt to use this theory to promote their clinical practice. The accordant cognition of Chinese and Japanese scholars is that Japanese doctors accept the value of YunQi theory and beware of it's deficiency in clinic.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relation of morbidity law of upper gastronintestinal hemo rrhage and cycle of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches in Gansu province. Methods Investigative statistical forms were set up and analyzed by computer about twelve years in-patient of upper gastronintestinal hemorrhage in TCM hospital of these district. Results High morbidity corresponded with theory of YUNQI, in 1988 (year of the fifth of ten Hevenly Stems and the fifth of the twelve Earthly Branches, HUOYUN is high sufficient), 1995 (year of the second of ten Hevenly Stems and the last of the twelve Earthly Branches, JINYUN is insufficient), and Baiyin district in 1994 (year of the first of ten Hevenly Stems and the eleventh of the twelve Earthly Branches TUYUN is high sufficient), Cheng district in 1996 (year of the third of ten Hevenly Stems and the first of the twelve Earthly Branches, SHUIYUN is high sufficient), YUNQI was high sufficient or insufficient, which causing diseases conform to five internal organs and geographical position. Conclusion Morbidity law of upper gastronintestinal hemorrhage corresponds with cycle of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches.

ABSTRACT

Dysentery is one of the digestive system diseases, which has a higher incidence rate. The aim of present study was to further explore the incidence of dysentery and get the better prevention of this disease. The data were collected and statistically analyzed from Shaanxi Province for the monthly incidence of dysentery in 22 years. In addition, according to the Yunqi theory and related incidence of diseases, the correlation between the incidences of dysentery and Suiyun, Sitian, Zaiquan and Six-qi were summarized systematically. This study provides a reference for the incidence of dysentery.
